Never mind the really simple cover, I am giving you gold this week. Indie produced singer/songwriter stuff that can hang with the big boys. If you don’t recognize the name, it is because Andrew Osenga has been in a lot of bands, but is just starting (well if you count the last four years JUST) to step out on his own. Andy was in a band called The Normals for a long time, then played along side Derek Webb in Caedmon’s Call. Although Andrew’s stuff isn’t quite as controversial as Derek’s, it is still injected with a lot of deep commentary and terrific song writing. In fact, despite the fact that this album is a free download from a guy most people haven’t heard of, I found it on a lot of “Best Of The Year” lists, on non-Christian sites. I’m telling you that to say CHECK IT OUT! IT’S FREE! IT’S GOOD! I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS SO!
for fans of Ben Folds, Glen Hansard, and Derek Webb

Andy O. has been one of my favorite artists for years. Thanks for giving him some props…
no prob man, putting up Vol.2 next week
I agree, I’m an Andy O fan. And did you catch how he created that cd? He asked for help thru the blog, made it a compilation of pieces that people from all over sent in to him. Such a novel idea!
