The Cornerstone Musical Festival’s New Band Showcase has launched many a career for Christian musicians.  Past performers who were selected to the new band showcase include included P.O.D., Anathallo, Ester Drang, Sixpence None The Richer, Eisley and Over The Rhine. Cornerstone 2011 has assembled an impressive of new bands for this year’s New Band Showcase.  Ten Christian musicians were selected by online voting and another six Christian musicians were added by an industry panel.  Each day the Cornerstone 2011 Main Stage will fire up with four of these New Band Showcase winners.  Musical styles range from folk to indie rock to rap to hardcore.

To  introduce you to these future music icons, One21music will interview 11 of the New Band Showcase winners leading up to Cornerstone 2011. Each day we will feature a different band, so check back in everyday to learn more about these up and coming Christian performers. In addition, eight of the New Band Showcase winners have submitted songs to be included on the One21Music New Band Showcase Sampler. Free music is always good, but be forewarned.  You will fall in love with these Christian musicians.

Wednesday, June 15- A City Under Siege: (Progressive/Metal) Led by faith in God and love for people, these guy’s main goal is to see all generations, from the forsaken to the accepted, find hope in Christ.

Thursday, June 16- My Maker and I: (Metal/Hardcore) Five guys who dove head first into music-making with one main idea: to praise the heck out of Jesus Christ. To show this generation that there is a living, loving God, with chunky breakdowns, crazy melodies, and honest lyrics.

Friday, June 17- Fue: (Alternative/Rock/Pop) The name Fue is an alternate spelling of its homonym “few” and comes from Matthew 9:37 where Jesus is telling of the great multitudes who are waiting to hear the Good News.

Saturday, June 18- Imminent- (Rock/Metal) The four guys have been playing music since their youth with influences of heavy metal, speed/thrash, rock, classic rock, punk, Latin rock, jazz, and blues.

Monday, June 20- Beggars: (Indie/Rock/Ambient) A ministry band with a ‘think outside the box’ element . They all believe there is more than one way to worship, and music and art are one in the same.

Tuesday, June 21- Merger: (Rock/Fusion/Jam) Four guys who successfully blend complex prog-rock ideas and infectious rhythms with strong melodies and compelling vocals.

Wednesday, June 22: One21Music New Band Showcase Sampler (free music!)

Thursday, June 23- Sam Robertson: (Folk/Acoustic/Indie) Natural vocals, acoustic guitar, warm keys and soulful violin form melodious, engaging folk-pop.

Friday, June 24- For The Broken: (Rock) Five guys that have been through many of life’s everyday trials and who believe they can touch a lot of lives through their music and by sharing what they learned along the way.

Saturday, June 25- Josiah James: (Alternative/Indie/Rock) A multi-instrumental Christian artist whose faith and talent are catalysts to his unique ability to write songs that connect with audiences on a highly personal level.

Monday, June 27- Gatlin Elms: (Alternative/Folk Rock) A man, a band, an organic musical journey of change and acceptance.

Tuesday, June 28- The Sacred Eternal: (Metal/Hardcore) A head crunching, mind blowing heavy metal ride, mpassioned by a love for Christ.
