Sean Michel is a delta bluesman prophet from Arkansas. Watching Christian musician Sean Michel perform you experience the bold faith and intensity of  Elijah or Paul.  He plays a smoking hot blues that we have all been trying to find since John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf left the delta for Chicago recording studios.  In the decades since the 50′s, music has become a commodity to packaged, sold and now stolen.  The record industry laments the loss of an business while a few of us lament the loss of  an art form that we have only heard about.   Sean Michel has launched a project to recapture the soul of that legendary music.  He can describe it better than me:

If you don’t fight for it, it’s not worth it. Inspired by the 2008 movie release of Slumdog Millionaire, “Sweeter” is a song written for and about the underdog. It’s about the pursuit of happiness and the worthwhile reward of fighting for your dream even when it’s not fun. The story and the song have been woven into yet another creative (and slightly comical) retelling of the human journey.

Hawkboy is the new band composed of former members of As Cities Burn. Well, at least thats how most people know them. Im pretty sure over time that the band will become known as “that really good progressive/atmospheric rock band that inspires everyone else to write better music.” Very long winded and a little bit of a run-on sentence, I know, but Im telling the truth. Ever since Hawkboy surfaced a year ago, they have impressed everyone they have come into contact with. Some people may have seen the band on tour with Emery, some may have not. Who knows, but let me assure you that Hawkboy live up to the hype.
