MxPx know a thing or a two about longevity and consistency.  Begun by three 15 year-olds in 1992, they’ve been a band for nearly two decades. Christian music artist MxPx has recorded eight studio albums, four EPs, four compilation albums, a live album, a VHS tape, a DVD and released 20 singles.  Initially, as a Christian-grounded band, MxPx started playing music inspired by Descendents, NOFX, and other Southern California skate punk bands. In the late 90's , MxPx moved away from their Christian-grounding as a band, signed with A&M Records and began creating music that was more mainstream, both musically and lyrically .  After nearly a decade of successful releases and tours in the mainstream market,  MxPx returned to Tooth & Nail in a move that, as the band describes it, gives them more freedom to get back into the Christian market.

What’s even more impressive than their prolific nature - or that they were given the key to their home city of Bremerton in 2006 - is the fact that they’ve maintained the same three members for almost the entire course of their pop punk existence. In 2009, the Washington state trio – bassist/lead vocalist Mike Herrera, guitarist Tom Wisniewski (who replaced founder Andy Hustead in 1994) and drummer Yuri Ruley have been together as MxPx for 15 years.
