The 15-year-old singer, Rachel Chan has had a passion for music her whole life. Playing the piano since she was six, recently teaching herself guitar, and singing as far back as she can remember – it was time to put it together. This summer, Christian musician Rachel Chan signed with in:ciite Media and the daughter of bestselling author and world renowned evangelist Francis Chan, released her first album Go on Jan. 10, 2012 under EMI Christian Music Distribution.
Working with seasoned pop music producer, Dave Lubben (Kultess), Rachel Chan is the co-writer on all ten tracks. “I learned in a tangible way that relying on the Lord for my lyrics was the only way to create something productive. I’ve never necessarily considered myself a songwriter, but it was when I sought the Lord for His words, that I truly was able to write them in the Spirit. There is such a peace that I have about everything written because each word was prayed over. Writing these songs reminded me all over again exactly what I love about my Savior, and the things He does in my daily life that make me go weak in the knees.”
Her music has provided Rachel Chan with the opportunity to talk to her peers about their day-to-day struggles through songs like “Even Here.” “Prove It,” the radio single released November 2011 features a surprising collaboration with her father’s thirty second rap reflecting on the role of a caring father. "I hope they are encouraged to be bold for Christ, and be serious and real about God."
