Now to American Idol Season 9 Contender, Christian music artist Ben Honeycutt
Benjamin “Ben” Honeycutt, songwriter and former front man for the Christian metal group Candlefuse, is now the
worship leader for The Church @ Catoosa in Ringold, Georgia. He lives in Fort Ogelthorpe, GA with is wife Ashley. Candlefuse was an openly Christian band with a mission statement that started: “With purpose, poetry, and passion, we choose to follow Jesus Christ and the ministry example He set…”. Candlefuse‘s two releases, Never Go Unheard
and Talking to The Wind
, feature Ben Honeycutt on lead vocals. On Never Go Unheard, Candlefuse covers the worship fave “Hungry”. They take that atmospheric worship song and give it a strong metal twist, pretty cool. Candlefuse broke up in November 2008 and Ben Honeycutt has been leading worship ever since. In his “golden ticket” interview Ben Honeycutt cites the break-up of Candlefuse as a driver for him to audition for American Idol Season 9.
Hear he is solo, singing “Pride (In The Name of Love)”
We did not see much of him in the Atlanta auditions but look out for Benjamin “Ben” Honeycutt in Hollywood.

Tonight” was technically brilliant. The phrasing, the pacing, the pitch, the vocal dynamics were all fantastic. That may have been the best he has sung throughout

I don’t want to here about her age, she is an old soul when she gets a mike in her hand. Go back and watch the videos of her performances. She prowls the stage like a lioness looking over her brood. I think she has the best stage presence of any of the American Idol Season 8 Top 13. I didn’t know what the
He is a brilliant singer beyond description. He commands a huge stage. He feels like a natural up there. He has been the most polarizing
The songs of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. represent the most optimistic, self confident music in American music history. The Rat Pack singers gained popularity in the 40′s and 50′s. This was the height of America’s power and respect in the world. The USA had just led the world to victory over the great evil of Germany and Japan in a two front war. The economy was booming as America rebuilt the world. That great generation (watch the series “Band of Brothers” sometime) had just faced evil, encountered death and suffered loss. This was a time for joy, love and forgetting.
This is jolting. Last week there were 7 and now there are 5 on American Idol Season 8. We say goodbye to
